Company History

One of the oldest practices in New Haven County, Branford Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1937 by Philip Gerlach, V.M.D. (UPenn, 1937). At the time, Branford was an agricultural town, and Dr. Gerlach mainly practiced large and farm animal medicine. After WWII, he began seeing dog and cat patients in the basement of his home as Branford transitioned to a suburban town.
