South Carolina Equine Associates is a busy six doctor equine ambulatory practice. The practice is equipped with digital radiography units, ultrasounds, shockwave, endoscopy and gastroscopy, with associates certified in acupuncture and chiropractic. We practice on a wide variety of horses, our patients are a mix of sporthorses (race, steeplechase, and show), fox hunters, and backyard horses, to name a few. On-call duties are limited to one weeknight per week and one weekend a month, with rotating holiday duties. Salary is negotiable based on experience and typically includes a base plus commission. Camden is located about thirty minutes east of the state capital, just a few hours away from the low country beaches and the blue ridge mountains. Known as the 'Steeplechase Capital of the World' and 'Carolinas Oldest Inland City', Camden is rich in history and equestrian activities, so there are plenty of activities for your time off!
DVM or equivalent, with an internship or a few years in practice preferred. Most of the emergency work involves treating colics, so experience with such cases would be beneficial. All associates provide their own practice vehicles with reimbursement covering your gas and vehicle maintenance.
