| General Practice and Emergency – Working as a Patient Care Team! Dundee Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian Superstar to join our AAHA-accredited practice with 3 hospitals located in Dundee, Elgin and Algonquin – approximately 40 miles west of Chicago, Illinois. With 16 practicing veterinarians between three locations in the Northwest suburbs and a support staff of over 50 employees, Dundee Animal Hospital is one of the oldest and largest privately-owned veterinary hospitals in Illinois. AAHA-accredited and in business for over 60 years, our client base includes everyone from first-time puppy exam clients to 2nd and 3rd generations of families who trust us with the care of their furry, feathery and scaly family members. In addition to traditional veterinary services like wellness exams, vaccinations, and spay and neuters, we also offer 24/7/365 emergency care (at our Dundee location), concierge care for house calls, laser therapy, and at-home euthanasia service and private cremation options. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dedicated to the compassionate care of animals, and works efficiently with a team in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. This individual will complement an existing staff of emergency doctors and a support staff specifically trained in emergency medicine. Responsibilities include the treatment of emergency patients from our three hospitals and other area clinics, usually with an average caseload of 8 - 16 patients per shift. Other duties include surgery and the monitoring & continual care of all admitted and transferred hospitalized patients. The position will include overnight and weekend shifts with an occasional day shift to assist with acute care. New or recent graduates are encouraged to apply!
