If you strive to be part of a practice that emphasizes the well being and personal development of team members and you desire to make a difference in the lives of pets, pet parents, and members of the veterinary profession we would like to talk to you! Our practice is AAHA accredited, Cat Friendly Certified, and the FIRST practice to become Fear Free certified in South Carolina!!! Better yet we are 100% privately owned. We are on the forefront of the Fear Free movement, and we are in the final stages of Fear Free Practice Certification!! VMC founder, Dr. Julie Reck, speaks nationally about successful implementation of Fear Free in general practice, leadership development, and building staff engagement. VMC has all the technology bells and whistles, but more importantly we have an AMAZING support staff!!! We have a very high number of licensed veterinary technicians, individuals with decades of experience, and a well structured management/leadership system. Education is at the core of our culture. We invest is many opportunities for our staff to grow and develop both personally and professionally. We host educational seminars for our clients that focus on pet care topics which permits our doctors to focus on the medicine in the exam room. In 2019, remodeled our client exam rooms and lobby to achieve a modern and completely Fear Free aesthetic and we opened our adjacent building as an educational center allowing us to host training and socialization classes.
Our doctor team is compromised of 4 outstanding female clinicians that are truly dedicated to their patient care as well as their personal development. We are dedicated to being a collaborative team and constantly striving to further enhance our leadership skills. Our practice holds weekly staff meetings on Wednesday's from noon -1:30 that focus on everything from communication, medical continuing education, personal development, and team building. In 2019 we had several staff meetings that were yoga classes, pumpkin carving, and gingerbread house making... why? Because we believe the workplace is more than just a place where you punch a clock for 40 hours. When working full time one spends majority of their waking time at work... that means it MUST be an source where opportunities exists and lives can be enriched for the better. Curious about what our 2020 ambitions are? Well.... a collaborative podcast with about 12 members of our staff collectively producing content, creation of research programs to learn more about the longevity and quality of life benefits of preventative care, and personal development coaching are just a few things we plan to tackle.
