- Wellness Veterinarian
Description
Humane Society of Tampa Bay is eagerly seeking a Wellness Veterinarian to provide medical care to private clients at our AAHA accredited Animal Health Center. Our Hospital is a full service, affordable veterinary hospital that is open to the public 6 days a week, Monday thru Saturday. We were the first non-profit animal hospital in Florida to be accredited by the AAHA and answers a critical need for affordable, high quality veterinary care in the Tampa Bay area. This position is full-time, with benefits, and requires working on Saturday.
- Florida Generous Benefit Package which includes: medical/dental/vision life insurance, disability, paid time off.
- Staff Veterinarians’ will be paid an additional $800.00 when working on their day off.
- HSTB will pay up to $1,500.00 toward staff Veterinarian Continuing Education requirements each year. HSTB will pay up to 3 days salary while obtaining CE credits. Anything over 3 days the employee will need to use PTO time. Veterinarian must provide receipts(s) to the Accounting Department for reimbursement.
- HSTB will reimburse the fees for your Florida state license, Florida Veterinary medical society and DEA license.
- If you choose to join, HSTB will pay the dues for the Hillsborough County Veterinary Medical Society. Veterinarian must provide a receipt(s) to Accounting Department for reimbursement.
- HSTB will provide you with professional liability coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence under our business owner policy. You may choose to supplement that with your own coverage if you wish.
Skills: Must be personable, able to communicate with and direct staff and work as a member of a team. Must be able to life 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Requirements
Education: Must possess a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine
Experience: Must possess a valid State of Florida license to practice veterinary medicine and have at least one year of experience in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter.
