The Humane Society of Greater Miami (referred to as “Company”) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of animals in need. Our mission is to provide compassionate care, advocacy, and support for animals while educating the community about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare. Our preventative care clinic delivers high-volume, high-quality vaccine and wellness services, helping thousands of families each year.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Humane Society of Greater Miami is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinarian to provide high-quality medical care to our patients. The ideal candidate is passionate about public health, animal welfare, and community engagement, and enjoys working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver high-quality patient care, including physical exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention and control, basic diagnostics, basic treatments, and client education.
Partner with leadership to design and refine clinic protocols, workflows, and services to maximize efficiency, accessibility, and client satisfaction.
Supervise and support veterinary technicians, assistants, and clinic staff in providing excellent client and patient care.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and veterinary standards of practice.
Engage with clients in a compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive manner, ensuring equitable access to care.
Contribute to clinic revenue and sustainability goals through consistent, high-quality service delivery and by supporting outreach initiatives.
Participate in community events and support integration of preventative care into broader organizational programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lifting and carrying animals and equipment over 50 pounds.
Walking, standing, sitting for prolonged periods depending on the task.
Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting, and stooping to care for animals and clean areas.
Ability to work in environments that will involve handling animals, dealing with various animal medical conditions, and exposure to animal-related hazards.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree and a current license to practice in Florida (or eligibility to obtain).
At least 2 years of experience in general practice or high-volume preventative care preferred.
Strong interest in community medicine and commitment to animal welfare.
Excellent communication skills with both clients and staff.
Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving clinical environment.
Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus, as is experience in process improvement or program development.
