Location: Spokane, Washington  
 Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Relief

 Company Overview: Pet Emergency Clinic and Referral Center is a leading 24/7 veterinary hospital in the Spokane, Washington area. We are committed to providing exceptional emergency and specialty care to our patients while prioritizing employee well-being and fostering a supportive work environment. Our facility is equipped with an ER/Critical Care specialist and Internal Medicine specialist, in addition to on-site radiology services Monday through Saturday via Inland Empire Veterinary Imaging.. Our veterinarians work collaboratively with our team of experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), veterinary assistants, and reception staff.
 Position Summary: We are seeking a self-motivated and compassionate Emergency Veterinarian to join our fast-paced team. In this critical role, you will diagnose, treat, and provide high-quality emergency care to your canine and feline patients. Compassionate and thorough client communication is also vital. The ideal candidate should thrive in a busy environment, exhibiting optimism and resilience while collaborating closely with support staff and other veterinarians.  
 Key Responsibilities: 
 -  Provide immediate and comprehensive emergency and critical care to animals experiencing urgent health issues.
-  Conduct thorough examinations, utilize diagnostic capabilities, and develop effective treatment plans for a wide variety of cases.
-  Collaborate effectively with veterinary technicians and assistants to ensure complete and timely patient care.
-  Educate pet owners on illnesses, treatment options, and post-emergency care to improve the well-being of pets.
-  Participate in the decision-making for resource allocation and team workflow to enhance operational efficiency during all shifts.
-  Mentor and train support staff, providing guidance to enhance their skills and foster professional development.
-  Maintain all medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
-  Work collaboratively with the ER criticalist and other specialty veterinarians to manage complex cases and coordinate comprehensive care.
-  Foster a positive work culture, prioritizing teamwork, morale, and job satisfaction among colleagues.
Qualifications: 
 -  Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
-  Active and unrestricted veterinary license in Washington State or eligibility to obtain.
-  Experience in emergency veterinary medicine preferred.
-  Strong diagnostic skills in emergency and critical care settings.
-  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and empathy towards pets and their owners.
-  Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
-  Commitment to continued education and professional growth, with an openness to coaching and training others.
-  Availability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients.
