Piedmont Small Animal Practice, located in prime Northern Virginia horse country, is seeking a full-time general practice veterinarian to join our team.
Our practice was established in 2016. We currently have 2 full-time and 3 part-time clinicians. Our goal is to add 1 additional full-time practitioner to our team. Our diverse caseload is centered around dogs and cats. The owners of the practice have a history of investing in equipment to improve patient care and expand the services offered.
The practice is open Monday through Friday 8-6 and Saturdays 8-12:30. DVM schedules include a 4-day work week with rotating Saturdays. The bulk of the daily workflow includes seeing appointments which include well and sick pets. Surgeries and emergencies are allocated on a rotating basis. Scheduling will be flexible based on areas of interest, with a strong focus on support of healthy work-life integration.
One of our DVMs has acupuncture and chiropractic training. We have a local board-certified internist and a board-certified surgeon that can provide services/support, at the clinic, on an as needed basis. Support staff include 2 full-time LVT’s, 7 veterinary assistants and 5 customer service representatives. The facility includes 6 exam rooms, a surgical suite, digital radiology, ultrasound unit, class 4 laser, shock wave and comprehensive dental equipment.
Northern Virginia has a wealth of natural, cultural, and business resources. Washington, D.C. is one hour to the east. Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Mountains are 40 minutes to the west. Museums, Civil War battlefields, wineries, breweries, shopping, hiking, and fishing can be found close by. For the discerning equestrian, there are 7 fox hunts within the practice area, numerous horse shows and events within an hour’s drive and multiple international level instructors available to provide lessons in varied disciplines. There is truly something for everyone, with the economy providing opportunities for spouses/partners to find well paid employment in most any field of work.
Salary will be commensurate with experience. A signing bonus and relocation assistance will be negotiated. Other insurance options are available for purchase.
Qualified candidates must possess a DVM (or equivalent), NAVLE, and VA state licensure and will be invited to participate in a working interview.
