Dairy Population Health Management Assistant Professor
The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University seeks an Assistant Professor, Special Appointment – Dairy Population Health Management. This is a non-tenure track, 12-month renewable faculty appointment. This is a full-time position with 55% effort in Teaching/Advising/Mentoring, 5% Research/Scholarly Activity, and 40% University and Professional Service/Outreach.
Clinical Service: Provide 26-34 weeks per year of direct clinical activity in the Dairy and Livestock Field Services. The Dairy Field Service works with contract dairies, and its caseload consists of reproductive evaluations, diagnosis and management of sick cows, dairy calf health and monitoring, infectious disease control, and records monitoring for dairies local to Fort Collins. The Livestock Field Service sees a variety of livestock species. The successful candidate will provide service in this area in conjunction with other faculty and house staff, as time and interest allow.
Outreach: Provide consultation for dairy producers and dairy veterinarians in Colorado and other states. Develop and participate in professional continuing education for veterinarians and producers in the livestock industry.
Administrative: Participate in Departmental, College, and University administrative committees.
