In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina destroyed much of New Orlean's, Dr. Aileen Ruiz moved to Pittsburgh not only to rebuild her life, but to open the Big Easy Animal Hospital on July 12, 2010.
After operating out of a 2500 square feet facility, Big Easy Animal Hospital expanded to a 15,000 square feet facility in June 2015 just 1 1/2 blocks away from the original location. Dog Daze and Cafe was ad...ded which includes doggy daycare, dog boarding, cat condo boarding and grooming. Dog Daze will be adding a dog friendly cafe during the fall 2016.
Not only do we provide convenient appointment hours, but we provide walk-in's for our clients who have busy schedules. During our business hours, we have the ability to care for all pet's medical needs from routine vaccines to emergency care. Should a pet need to be transferred to a 24 hour facility, recommendation options will be discussed.
