Homer Veterinary Clinic is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join our team in early 2017. This is an incredible opportunity to work in an AAHA accredited clinic located in a great community in beautiful Homer, Alaska.
We are a 4-doctor practice with 10-support staff including 3 licensed veterinary technicians, 3 client care representatives, 3 veterinary assistants and 1 kennel assistant. This is a predominantly small animal clinic with a lighter but growing caseload in large animal/equine/exotics/avian species. We provide after hours emergency service and dedicate our working hours to provide professional, high level medical and surgical care to all our patients.
Our goals for 2017 include intergrating Fear Free Practice program into daily operations and attaining Cat Friendly Practice status along with expanding our wellness programs focusing on preventive dental care. We are also developing some great programs with our local shelter this year. Lots of great and fun work to be done!

We are seeking a technician with minimum 3 years experience in clinical practice including critical/emergency care. It is expected that core skills are highly tuned and advanced proficiency in the areas of anesthesia/pain management, diagnostic imaging (both dental/full body), laboratory testing and sample handling along with client communication/education capacity is desired. Working within a team where challenging cases and situations are met with excellent communication between all team members and clients while always caring for our patients with compassion, kindness and professionalism is essential.

Veterinary Technician Licensure in Alaska is preferred but not essential for the right candidate.
