Animalia has established itself as a unique option in the field of veterinary medicine in the region. We work to set a standard of care and service that goes above and beyond what people expect. As has become gospel in our culture, it takes “a thousand little things” to achieve this singular status. The role of Practice Director, at its core, is about coordinating the efforts of all team members towards enacting those “thousand little things” that set the practice apart and ensure that we uphold our mission and embody our core values. While the nuts and bolts of day to day clinic life certainly constitute an important part of the position, there must also be an emphasis on ensuring that our specific culture permeates all aspects of the practice because it is the atmosphere created with our physical space, our staff, and our ways of interacting with clients and patients that serves to set us apart. Consistent utilization of superior communication skills is a necessary bedrock for this and all other roles of the position.
Additionally, the Practice Director is ultimately responsible for carrying out the Practice Owner’s vision by working to define and achieve her goals. This is a role with many facets, but broadly, the Animalia Practice Director combines elements of best practices from leadership, business administration, human resources, communications, facility management, and veterinary medicine to create the optimal environment for high staff satisfaction, stellar customer service, and superior patient care.
