We are active in the community and work closely with an animal rescue to help shelter animals needing reconstructive surgery.
Small Animal Surgeon Needed:
We are searching for a small animal surgeon to work throughout our hospitals (locations in Fort Myers and Estero). Board certification, residency training, or experience collected during years of working in a general practice setting are all considered. A fixed location to perform surgery may be requested, and applicant should be willing to teach and perform surgery in all of our locations. Proficiency in orthopedics and soft tissue surgery is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to interact with staff in a positive and respectful manner is an absolute requirement. Willingness to teach and train other doctors within the hospital that are interested in performing surgical procedures is a must since we constantly strive to support and educate our staff.
Desire to continue learning and staying up to date with the latest surgical techniques is always a plus. We provide a generous CE budget in order to facilitate this. At Pets First our main goal is to provide the highest standard of care possible.
General Practitioner Needed:
We are looking for a general practitioner proficient in client and team communication, wellness care, medical visits, dentistry, and routine surgeries in dogs and cats. Please see details below in the job requirements section.

General practice treating small animal patients, dogs and cats.
Up-to-date facility with 4 exam rooms, treatment area, surgery suite, hospitalization ward, and grooming.
Complete pharmacy with a large inventory of established pharmaceuticals as well as many of the latest developments.
Digital x-ray and all radiographs are sent to a specialist for confirmation and education.
Isoflurane anesthesia and Cardell Touch monitoring equipment.
Dentistry, Dental X-rays, and Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgery equipment available.
We use eVet Practice's cloud-based software. Finish your medical records in the comfort of your home with access across all devices.
Tablets are located in each exam room for client education opportunities.
In-house laboratory for complete blood count, serum chemistry, total thyroid, urinalysis and sedimentation, and common antigen/antibody tests. We work with Antech's external laboratory.
We are conveniently located near the Cape Coral bridge in the Publix shopping center at South Pointe Commons. We are within 15 minutes of a 24-hour emergency care center.
